IN THE MAKING: JEFFY CLUTCH
Even the littlest bag takes lots of engineering.
Putting our new Jeffy Clutch into production required heaps of planning and some tweaks along the way. Marrying so many component pieces, (zippers, leathers, fabrics…outers, linings, and logos, to name a few!), was no easy task! Keep scrolling to see how we worked through a few snags to land at a perfectly finished product.
Thread color wasn’t a given when it came to developing this two-toned semi-transparent Jeffy. Black was unexpectedly harsh, so we ended up going with a soft yellow option.
Pretty wonky!
Sewn as a continuous piece, the multi-layered body/lining panel would buckle and warp. The original design contained a bottom seam panel, so we added it back. It also means that the Jeffy can stand up on its own, as a good clutch does!
Blind embossing looked a little dull on the high-shine silver leather. Adding this gunmetal foil gave us the tonal pop we were after.
With all the kinks worked out, the Jeffies await their final sew.
A completed Jeffy Clutch is pert, pretty, and prepared to hold your most essential items!
